The York Theatre Company is currently accepting scripts for consideration for its Developmental Reading Series.Please see the answers to frequently asked questions below:
Who can submit?
The York Theatre Company is one of the only theatres in the country that accepts unsolicited scripts - we receive scripts from around the world, from both established and emerging writers.Do you accept plays?
York's mission concerns musicals only; we do not accept submissions of plays.How long does the evaluation process take?
We pride ourselves in properly evaluating each script, which takes time as we have a small staff and a loyal group of volunteer readers. It generally takes at least 6 to 12 months to get a script through our entire evaluation process.What materials should I submit?
A completed script, as well as a sound recording of at least most of the songs.Will my materials be returned?
While each submission will get a reply, we are unable to return your materials.When should I submit?
Only when the submission process is open. The process is currently CLOSED. Please check back periodically to see if the process has been reopened. Any scripts received while the submission process is closed will not be considered.]Where should I send my materials?
