MUSICAL THEATRE AUDITION TECHNIQUE CLASS
Classes will be taught by The York Theatre's Associate Artistic Director and Director of Education, Michael Unger and will have music direction by one of New York's top audition accompanists, Eric Svejcar.
The class will culminate with a showcase performance on the York's Off-Broadway stage to which industry professionals will be invited.

Classes will be $80/class x 6 weeks = $480.
Classes will have no more than 12 students.
All students work every class.
Students must commit to and pay for all six classes - if you will miss a class you can transfer your space to a friend/colleague - but it is your responsibility to replace your time slot.
Classes will meet Mondays: April 10, 24, May 1, 8, 15, 22 from 7PM-11PM
Auditing one class is allowed to see if it is right for you.

The York's Musical Theatre Training Program draws from its vast network of connections to New York City's most successful theatre artists as teachers and guest artists. It offers the unique opportunity of classes taking place in an actual Off-Broadway theatre near the heart of New York's theatre district.
MICHAEL UNGER is the York Theatre Company's Associate Artistic Director and Director of Education. He is also the Producing Artistic Director of NewArts - a theatre and youth empowerment initiative in Newtown, CT to benefit the community wracked by the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in December of 2012. He has directed plays, musicals and operas at some of the top regional theatres in the country as well as a dozen operas around the country - and Russia. World premieres include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Caligula, A ROCKIN' Midsummer Night's Dream (Featured in the award-winning documentary film, Midsummer in Newtown), Two Point Oh and Haven. ERIC SVEJCAR is a composer and music director living in Brooklyn, New York. With David Zellnik, he adapted Disney’s Peter Pan Jr. which has been produced by hundreds of schools across the US. Composing credits include A ROCKIN’ Midsummer Night’s Dream (which premiered in the summer of 2014 for the 1214 Foundation in Newtown, CT and is featured in the documentary film Midsummer in Newtown), Caligula, an Ancient Glam Epic (Audience Award at the inaugural New York Musical Theatre Festival), The Murder of Isaac (Centerstage Baltimore), and songs for White Noise (NYMF). On Broadway, he conducted the Roundabout/Deaf West revival of Big River, and he music directed the 2006 Off-Broadway revival of Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living In Paris.
